It’s a journey where you will get knowledge through your pass to the mountain range, Ausangate, where the sacred Ausangate Apu is located, where the local Quechua people believe to be a deity. While tackling the more challenging paths that involve ascending altitude, incredible scenery is abundant, which includes snow-capped peaks of turquoise glacial lakes and green valleys.

You may just chanced upon a perfectly done knitting demonstration or even a local feature unique to the location.

Reaching the Crown Jewel: The Rainbow Mountain

The undisputed highlight of the Ausangate trek is, of course, the awe-inspiring Rainbow Mountain. This geological wonder boasts vibrant red, yellow, purple, and turquoise stripes, a testament to millions of years of mineral deposits—the feeling of reaching the viewpoint and witnessing this natural masterpiece unfold before you is truly unforgettable. Unlike the standard Rainbow Mountain tours that can get crowded, the Ausangate trek offers a more peaceful and intimate experience, allowing you to truly appreciate the mountain’s beauty.
